How It Works
On your side of the table, not across it.
How we work
Be great at asking questions. Then listen. Your client will tell you everything you need to know.
It's the closest thing we have to a house rule — and the reason a spec from Zink tends to fit the operation it was written for.
01
Operators don't buy from us — dealers and distributors do.
Your purchase flows through your dealer or distributor, the way it always has. Our job is making sure what they sell you is actually right: the spec, the sizing, the workflow, the combination.
02
One solution often takes several brands.
Real solutions rarely come from a single manufacturer. Because we represent a complete, complementary product portfolio, we build across manufacturers — the cooking from one, the holding from another, the ventilation tying it together — as one coordinated answer.
03
We've probably seen a version of your challenge.
We work with national and regional dealers, major chains, niche local concepts, and everyone in between. We never assume we know your answer before we've listened — but odds are we've seen something like it. And if we haven't, we'll point you to the people who have.
This process doesn't stop at our state lines. Zink helped found a member-owned alliance of the country's independent rep firms — so a rollout that starts in the Great Lakes lands with the same discipline in every market it reaches.
National reach, local depth →Where our cost actually sits — and why it's smaller.
Every product's price includes the manufacturer's cost of selling it. There is no version of the industry where that number is zero. There is, however, an efficient version: premium brands sharing one Zink team — one salesforce, one set of chefs, one network of test kitchens — each paying only a commission on what actually sells, instead of staffing their own people and facilities in every market. The result is simple: we keep your costs down. What the brands save by sharing one team is built into the prices you pay — we're not just free to use, we're part of why the price is what it is. That's the multi-line advantage: not by being free, but by being the least expensive way for the manufacturers of kitchen equipment, tabletop and smallwares, and furniture to serve you well — with more expertise attached, not less.
None of it depends on heroics. Zink runs on EOS, with formalized processes and REV Pro data behind every spec, quote, and install — proven, scalable, repeatable, across all 8 states.
Questions we hear every week.
Straight answers to how the rep model actually works. Anything else — ask us directly.
Do I buy equipment directly from Zink?
No — and that surprises people. Every purchase flows through your dealer or distributor, the way it always has. Zink builds the right solution across our brands, supports the spec before the sale, and stays involved after it.
What does working with Zink cost an operator?
Nothing. Manufacturers pay reps a commission on what actually sells — and because the brands we represent share one Zink team instead of each fielding their own salesforce, their selling costs stay lower, and so do your prices.
Can I test equipment before I buy?
Yes. Zink runs eight culinary centers, five of them with partners — Columbus, Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Detroit, Indianapolis, Louisville, and Milwaukee — where you can cook on the equipment, handle the tabletop, and sit in the furniture before you invest. At no cost.
Who do I call — Zink or my dealer?
Both stay involved. Call Zink at 800.492.7400 for product questions, specs, samples, and culinary center visits; your dealer handles the purchase and order logistics. After the install, Zink is still on the line.
Which brands does Zink represent in my state?
Zink represents one of the industry's most complete offerings across Equipment, Tabletop & Smallwares, and Furniture & Design — availability varies by state. The Product Portfolio filters the lineup to your state and shows your local team alongside it.
What states does Zink cover?
Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, West Virginia, and Wisconsin — organized into three sales regions, each led from the field.
What if I'm building beyond the Great Lakes?
Zink is a founding member of Paradigm, a member-owned alliance of hand-selected rep firms across the USA and Canada. One call to your Zink team coordinates the introductions, and the same discipline follows your project into every market.
How do I book a culinary center visit?
Request a visit through the contact page or call 800.492.7400. Private menu-testing sessions are scheduled around your operation — your menu, our chefs and equipment.
The model works best in person.
Bring a project, a menu, or a doubt to any of the eight culinary centers and watch the process run on your own problem — at no cost.
