Size the machine for the summer Saturday.

Peak-hour servings in, machine class out — using published industry throughput ranges, with the profit math one click away.

Your peak hour

Count the summer Saturday, not the average Tuesday — frozen programs live and die on the peak hour.

The machine class

Class, not model — cylinder count, gravity vs. pump feed, air-cooled vs. water all move the pick. An Electro Freeze demo answers it with your own mix; ask your rep and bring the cone math.

Asked every week.

How many servings per hour does a soft serve machine make?

Published throughput across machine classes runs from about 100 servings per hour on entry equipment to 420 on high-output machines, at a 3½-ounce serving. Bigger portions cut real output proportionally, and recovery under back-to-back draws — not the nameplate — is what a busy window actually feels.

How do I size a frozen beverage program?

Convert the peak hour to gallons: drinks × ounces ÷ 128. Published frozen-beverage classes produce roughly 10 to 18 gallons per hour; about 3 gallons per hour serves 32 twelve-ounce drinks.

Is soft serve actually profitable?

It's one of the highest-margin items in foodservice, which is why the math deserves real numbers: Electro Freeze publishes profit calculators with the formula in the open. Run your price and volume through them, then test the product side in a demo.
