JOB SUMMARY
The Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for managing incoming payments, maintaining accurate customer account records, and supporting the company’s cash flow. This role ensures invoices are issued correctly, payments are processed on time, and outstanding balances are followed up efficiently.
KEY GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Generate and send customer invoices accurately and on time
- Receive, post, and verify customer payments (checks, ACH, wire, credit cards)
- Reconcile customer accounts and resolve payment discrepancies
- Monitor aging reports and follow up on overdue accounts
- Communicate professionally with customers regarding billing and payment inquiries
- Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
- Assist with month-end closing and reporting activities
- Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to resolve account issues
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree in accounting or finance a plus
- 1–3 years of accounts receivable or general accounting experience
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to handle confidential financial information
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
