Who’s Eligible?
Independent restaurants, chain restaurants and non-commercial operators such as schools, colleges and universities, healthcare foodservice operators, and correctional foodservice.
For the 9th consecutive year, foodservice operators and their supply chain partners can submit their back-of-house storage areas for a chance at a makeover.
Sponsored exclusively by Metro, one winner will receive a $100,000 kitchen storage makeover. This includes an initial on-site storage and workflow productivity assessment before Metro creates a layout and design approved by you and your operation, culminating with a transformation of the storage and efficiency needs. Metro will install and assemble all storage solutions, which may include shelving, workstations, wall-shelving, worktables, custom configurations, track systems and more – courtesy of Metro. After the completion of the makeover, your operation will be featured in an article in an issue of FE&S magazine.
Entries must be made by February 27. A panel of judges will review all submissions for clarity, completeness and select a winner based upon who will benefit most from a storage makeover, so please ensure you describe in detail your operations’ storage needs with accompanying images and videos. Winner will be notified around the end of March.

So, what’s it take to be a winner?
Here’s a few tips on making a winning entry!
- Document your struggle both in photos and video.
- Give a clear representation of size & scope.
- Explain the full business process of how your kitchen functions (We do way more than shelves… just watch a previous makeover) and give a clear description of the issues you face both in storage and process.
- Have a story for us to tell… Make it compelling. It’s not just about having a mess. It’s about who we are helping and why it’s important.
