Zink decided to put this to test at a local Elementary K-12 kitchen and serving area. Schools and children can be a breeding ground for bacteria and until now there have not been significant developments on maintaining a cleaner, bacteria-free environment. This forward-thinking Kentucky school saw this as an opportunity to take steps to change this with HyGenikx.
Prior to testing, the overall air and surface bacteria counts of this kitchen area were low due to less activity from school not being in session and routine surface cleaning done in preparation for the start of school. Zink mounted 7 HyGenikx units to protect 2100 square feet of space. These units are plug and play and can be mounted to the wall or laid flat on a surface or shelf.
Eighteen total samples were collected over the course of two days in five separate locations in the kitchen and serving area. Air samples were collected using gravity plates with Tryptic Soy Agar. Surface samples were collected utilizing contact plates with the same growth medium, TSA.
Results showed surface bacteria reduced by 59.3%! Combined, air and surface bacteria counts were reduced by 42.8% all in under 48 hours.

EASY to install: simply plug it in, mount it to the wall and forget it! AF units can alternatively sit on a flat surface.
